Introduction[edit]

GPCAR has been established under Purbanchal University as the central college of agricultural science to provide quality education and research activities. It has been started with the aim of producing human resources that can contribute to alleviate the existing agriculture problems of the society and to support the nation by supplying academically sound and technically proven human resources in agricultural sector. Currently, B.Sc. (Hons) Agriculture is offered by GPCAR.

The students enrolled in the program need to undergo field-based internship is meant for broadening the vision of the student as well as imparting practical knowledge in relation to his/her field of elective subject. Such internship arrangements are made in collaborations with various agro-based industries, research farms as well as private farms/NGOs operating in various agro-ecological conditions.

The institution was created with an objective of providing an outstanding 360 degree education in character building, leadership, extra and co-curricular activities along with academics with a very strong, dedicated and capable team of educators who, I believe, will become the driving force in the growth of the institution.

Future Directions[edit]

GPCAR has aimed to implement 5 year plan to foster the academic excellence and research activities as aspired by Faculty of Science and Technology. This five year plan could be a realistic road-map towards further progress to achieve the basic goals by implementing the annual plans. GPCAR prioritizes the lunch of post graduate course with extended infrastructure and upgraded laboratory in its five year plan.
