Assignment 1:

Climate Change and Agriculture -

I think this article is well organized. There are examples of climate change and its relation to agriculture in various regions. Most of the article is not biased and focuses on facts. For example, the elevated carbon dioxide on crops is focused on how it harms the plants and gives studies on its effects. The article states there is little study of how it affects a whole farm system. The article also talks about "mixed effects" of moderate climate change on developing countries. There is no specific stance, so it seems to be neutral. A lot of the sources are fact based, but some articles are "harms" and "dangers", which shows focus on the negative impacts of climate change. I think the issue could be that all articles need to be continuously updated with new studies and information.

Regional Effects of Global Warming -

This article was a bit confusing to read through after the initial regional impacts. I think it would have been better if the tropical surface section was larger, as this is still a large impact on the climate change and global warming. It is a big ecosystem and I think it was overlooked within the article. I also decided to view the "Talk" section of the article. Most of the talk was about edits and parameters but there was one person talking about the EPA source. They mentioned how the Trump administration removed the climate change information. I think this is a big change that needs to be addressed because a lot of the information in the article is form this source. It is intriguing how a lot of sources came from the EPA and now have to be changed and this could definitely change how the article will sound once it is edited.

I worked with Shirley Nguyen on this assignment in the Desert Ecology section.
