I am a professional computer programmer living and working in Chicago, IL. In my spare time, I enjoy travel, photography and writing, among other hobbies.
I have been a professional programmer since 1999. Over that time, I have worked for a number of companies, large and small, on a wide range of projects using an array of technologies.
Web sites I have worked on include: an NFL team, multiple software companies, a coffee distributor, a fashion designer, a worldwide electrical manufacturer, and credit card rewards programs, among others, using technologies such as PHP, ASP, ColdFusion, Perl, ASP.net, HTML, XML, XSLT, JavaScript, and AJAX.
I have also worked on enterprise applications for: a semiconductor distributor, a major dry cleaning chain, a worldwide grocery, and even the US Army, using technologies including: Delphi, Visual Basic, Java, and C++.
I am an avid photographer. In spite of the wonders of modern technology, I still prefer the look and feel of black and white film. I also prefer older cameras. At present, the cameras I use include: a Canon EOS 350D, a Canon Powershot 850, a Canon EOS Rebel Ti, a Canon AE-1 Program, a Canon Canonet QL 17 GIII, a Bronica S, an Agfa Isolette II, a FED 3B, a LOMO Smena 8M, a Polaroid ProPack, a Yashica A, a Yashica D, a Zorki 4k, and two Holga 120S's.
I have made a number of contributions to Camerapedia.org.
I am mainly interested in contributing to articles about Chicago and articles about photography.
