Meta Strings is a music documentary directed by Sokpoly Voeun in 2024. This film was made for support local artists in Cambodia and deliver a great motivation messages to the world.[1]

Storyline[edit]

Nara stands as a member of Reign in Slumber,[2] a Cambodian metal band.[3] Alongside fellow bandmates Alain, Ronan, Tin, and Nel, Nara is dedicated to preserving their music genre. They confront challenges such as artist discrimination, societal toxicity, and the struggle for survival, all while striving to educate those who may not fully comprehend their artistic endeavors.[1]

  • Alain Ou as Alain band founder and drummer, he create "Silent6" band before "Reign in Slumber" existing. He also in collaboration with Doch Chkae band as a vocalist.[4]

Begin on April 6, 2024 at cloud bar, Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Sokpoly Voeun, start production and finished on April 7, 2024. Post-production begin on April 8th 2024 and finished on April 25th 2024.[1]

Music[edit]

Sokpoly Voeun, decided to use one out of reign in slumber music "Stave Nation Army" from album "ST/Demo" released on April 4, 2019.[11] "ST/Demo" includes 4 more tracks such as "Fuck Off And Rot (featuring Mia Priest)", "Witch's Dust", "Altered State", Contrition". Another new "Metal Strings" original soundtrack from Reign in Slumber new 2024 album.[11]

These two original soundtrack "Stave Nation Army" and "Metal Strings" was composed by Alain Ou and perform by Nara Tsutra, Nel Briones, Ronan Kemp, Vanntin Hoeurn and also Alain Ou.[12]

Release[edit]

Metal Strings Metal Strings, had its Premiere at the Cloud Metal Film Fest, Phnom Penh, Cambodia on June 5, 2024. This is the official selection by cloud. a lot of artist and filmmaker join this event, such as Reign in Slumber, Metal String's film crews and music artist.
