In doing my genealogy I found that my fourth great grand parents, and third great grandmother came to Utah in the McArthur handcart company of 1856, this was the second of five handcart companies that year, the first year handcarts had been tried. Companies four and five were the Willey and Martin companies.

Further investigation showed that nearly all the immigrants that made up the first two handcart companies sailed from Liverpool to Boston on a ship named Enoch Train. I began to search for more information on this ship and wasn't able to find the kind of detailed information I expected, at least not at first. However I have found a significant amount of information about many people and ships, and one band, all named Enoch Train. When speaking of a person named Enoch Train, I am referring to a man born in about 1801, in Weston, Massachusetts (FamilySearch ID K4YX-DLZ.) His father was also named Enoch Train, and he had an older brother with the same name, that only lived about a year. He also gave the name to his third son, who only lived to his early 20's. The earliest ship to bear that name is the one I started my search for, and doesn't yet have a wikipedia page, but a model of it was featured in an exhibit at the Church History Museum, in Salt Lake City for several years.
