The Swing Symphonies is a set of 5 cartoons created by Walter Lantz from 1941 to 1945. The cartoons are a predecessor to the modern day music video. Each cartoon is built around a popular hit song of the day.

$21 a Day (Once a Month)

The first-and probably the most musical song of the series- is $21 a Day (Once a Month). Released theatrically on December 1st, 1941. It has cameo appearances from Woody Woodpecker and Andy Panda. Set in a department store, toys come to life as an army and play out the lyrics of this song about army payment day.

Pass the Biscuts, Mirandy!

Unlike the first cartoon, this cartoon stars people. But there are some similarites:

  1. At the end,the theme is WWII,&
  2. There is a simalir end



Mirandy makes some really tough biscuits.  The biscuits are used by her husband in a big battle against his rivals.

The Greatest Man in Siam

This is the first of two cartoons that stars Miss X, who is eye candy for the service men. did you know:

  • This cartoon takes place in a Country!
  • Miss X has a different hairstyle between this cartoon & the next.
  • the winner's look is based on that of the dumbest man in siam

the plot:the king wants to get a husband for his daugter,so he has a contest to find the greatest man in siam.

Abou Ben Boogie

Miss X appears again, this time as a dancer at a club. She appers with updated version of the fastest man in Siam(identified as Abou Ben Boogie). Together they dance and are sometimes joined by a camel.

The Pied Piper of Basin Street

This is the final cartoon of the series, when Woody Woodpecker came into his prime. Basin Street is full of rats at the start but Piper saves the day.they have changed things a bit,for example,The Piper lures the whole townonto a ship!
