Contributions and Recognition

I am the initial author and image-provider for the article on Superior Mesenteric Artery (SMA) Syndrome. This piece was featured in the "Did You Know?" section of the Wikipedia Mainpage on April 9, 2008. I am a member of the Gastroenterology Task Force for WikiProject Medicine, a collaborative effort to improve the encyclopedia's coverage of health and medicine, as well as the Wiki Med Foundation, a non-profit affiliated with the World Health Organization, Translators Without Borders, as well as several other professional and scholarly societies, medical schools, governments, and NGOs. With a demographic like 0.013%, I was not surprised that Wikipedia lacked an article on SMA Syndrome. But, I figured it was about time someone fixed that!

I also greatly expanded the article on Cerebral salt-wasting syndrome, which was only a stub when I first stumbled upon it.
