He is a clinical and research psychiatrist based in Kent and at the Institute of Psychiatry, London (1). He hails from Lyallpur in Pakistan. He was educated at DPS (Lyallpur), GC (Lahore) & PMC (Faisalabad) before training/qualifying as a psychiatrist from the Maudsley & Farnborough Hospitals and the Institute of Psychiatry, London.

He has published articles on drug & alcohol abuse and other mental health disorders in peer-reviewed journals. He also writes on sociorelgiopolitical issues in newspapers with a pseudonym. He seems to be a bit of a political activist; appears in the media from time to time to comment on issues related to Pakistan (2). Reportedly, he advises the Punjab Government on various issues without a political binding. He chairs Lyallpur Foundation which is engaged in charitable activities related to education and health in Faisalabad, Pakistan.
