Rick Charles Nelson
[edit]Rick Charles Nelson, also know as “The Voice”, is a professional singer and voice-over artist born and raised in Los Angeles, California. His deep, rich voice has been likened to that of the smooth sounds of Jeffrey Osborne and Barry White.
Early Life/Music Career
[edit]Rick started singing gospel music at the age of 5 in his grandmother’s mission and started playing the piano at the age of 9. He spent many of his younger years singing in the church choir influenced by gospel guests Andraé Crouch, Joe Westmoreland and Kim Westin. Rick discovered that he had a gift while he was outside sitting on a curb with his cousins one day and began singing “Aint No Big Thing” by The Radiants. By the time Rick was a teenager, he was singing backgrounds on professional recordings. Rick has sung with artists such as Mariah Carey, Michael Jackson, Lenny Kravitz, Wayne Newton, and Andraé Crouch to name a few. He has workers extensively in film, television, music recording and live performances that have taken him around the world.
In recent years, Rick has been a member of the negotiating committee for AFTRA. He is currently writing songs in preparation for production for his first solo project.
