Module 5: Adding to and Article and References

11/14/17- Added references both at the bottom of the page and throughout the article in which they applied. My sources were from CNN, Huffington Post, ABC News, Mediaite, and Kazin. I made two additions to the article, in the Super Tuesday section and the early overview section. This completes my first article of the assignment on the page Republican Party presidential primaries, 2016

11/15/17- Made additions to the article United States presidential election, 2004. Adding five references from CNN money, New York Times, Kazin, LA times, and a U.S. history web article. the references from CNN, LA, and NY were from the time period of the election, around 2004. I made two additions to the article both in regards to populism used in the election with an ensuing war to come in Iraq. This completes my work for Module 5 and I think my additions were strong contributions to both wiki articles.

2003 invasion of Iraq ~ Module Four: This is a featured article, the bulk of article creation was made from 2003-2007. The article is set like a timeline making it really easy to read through. Starting with preparations and reasonings for the invasion. Ending with the aftermath and effects of the War. The article did mention argumentative topics, but did not give biased depictions, only stated that they were controversial (Human Rights for example). A bulk of the page is summaries of battles and strikes by the U.S. in the War like The Battle of Karbala, while also providing links to each battle/strike's own Wikipedia page for further detail.

In the years leading up to the invasion (post September 11th), the article gives direct quotes from addresses given by President Bush throughout 2002. With the United State's forces fighting the War on Terror in near by Afghanistan. The Iraqi government was preemptively aware of possible force by the U.S. if their demands for a regime change are not met. The page also gives a section indicating failed peace policies, in the Attempts to avoid war subcategory, with links to different failed bills and even its own article Failed Iraqi peace initiatives.

The article talks about aspects to the invasion that are usually not thought of in context. The legality of the war is mentioned. The to invade it needed to be justifiable. Depicting that resolution attempts with the Saddam regime have been attempted since the Invasion of Kuwait in 1990. From 1990-2003 the United States created over 600 resolution proposals, none ever being met or leading to lasting peace. The United States Senate and House of Representatives found that after so many attempts to avoid military action and the imposing threat of chemical and biological weapons, that the invasion was justifiable. Winning an overwhelming majority vote from both to invade and end the regime.

The United States was the majority of the force, but did receive support from NATO according to article. Troops were given from 33 states along with the Iraqi-Kurdish militia who provided wide intel and local support in the efforts. With overwhelming strength it did not take long for the invasion to be complete. Also, aerial superiority is mentioned in multiple sections regarding "strikes" that broke the will off Iraqi forces that were already disorganized and split. Iraq's military never stood a chance. Having very little to no local support, a disorganized government, and inferior military weaponry, the did not take long to complete. Operation Iraqi Freedom lasted from March 20th, 2003 until May 1st of 2003.

The article has 10 references coming from 2002-2011. Two sources in particular are from United States military institutes. The Office of U.N. Representative Ron Paul is also put as a reference from 2002 (primary source). The page also provides several external links and further readings for support. With over 200 notes this Wikipedia page has been altered and added to over the course of 15 years. Having a wide variety of sources and analysis of the event pre-invasion, during, post, and including sections of controversial topic issues while not swaying either way. The page 2003 invasion of Iraq is a reliable and current source of the event in history.

This is my Wikipedia sandbox! Being Bold is very important

Just learning to use the visual editing, nothing to see here.

September 15th 2017, Today I made my '''copy edits''' regarding the Indian Removal Act. I messaged the editor before hand. I made my edits, then tried to make more hours later but was told I've been blocked until September 22nd.
