Background Information

[edit]

Rebecca Jean Radic (born Rebecca Jean Brisky) was born February 4, 1986 in Opelika Alabama's East Alabama Medical Center. She has a sister named Robyn who is 5 years older. Their parents divorced when the two were 5 and 10, respectively. Rebecca spent much of her childhood at her aunt's house, where she grew up in close proximity with her cousin, Jennifer, who is only 2 months older. Rebecca did well in school and often received creative writing and reader awards. In middle school she was one of the top 3 readers for 2 years in a row. At the age of 16 Rebecca and her mother moved to Boca Raton, Florida (her sister had previously moved to Orlando). There Rebecca graduated from Olympic Heights High School in 2004.

Higher Education

[edit]

The first 3 years of Rebecca's undergraduate studies were sporadic and without an overarching goal. Realizing that her initial Computer Science major was not the right direction, Rebecca switched to become an English major. Later in her college career she picked up a second major, Philosophy. In her final year of studies, Rebecca realized she could pick up a minor in Spanish using the classes as fillers for credits she needed to reach the minimum requirements for her two degrees. She graduated in the Fall of 2012 with a B.A. in English, a B.A. in Philosophy, a minor in Spanish, and an overall GPA of 3.68. Rebecca immediately started Graduate studies in the Spring of 2013 at USF. She studies Library and Information Sciences and will graduate in the Fall of 2014.

Personal Life

[edit]

Rebecca met her husband, Ryan, while working at Outback in Delray Beach, FL. The two first hated each other, which made it surprising how quickly the two became married. After only 7 months of dating, the two married on July 23, 2011. The two have been married for 3 years and celebrated the birth of their son, Nathan, on January 7, 2014. Rebecca enjoys being a mother and spends much of her free time crafting, reading, and cooking.
