Jainism is one of the most ancient religions of the Indian land. It is supposed to be the eternal religion, in which any soul can become God. in the centre of this universe the first island is JAMBUDWEEP.IN THIS THERE ARE SHATKAAL CHANGES IN THE BHARAT SHETRA AND THE AIRAWAT KSHETRA THE FIRST PERIOD HAS TWO PARTS CALLED AVASARPINI AND UTSARPINI . EACH PART HAS 6 FURTHER PERIODS. FOR THE AVSARPINI KAAL THESE ARE- SUSHMA-SUSHMA,SUSHMA,SUSHMA-DUSHMA,DUSHMA-SUSHMA , DUSHMA AND ATIDUSHMA. THE 6 PERIODS OF UTSARPINI CALLED ARE- ATIDUSHMA ,DUSHMA, DUSMA-SUSHMA, SUSHMA-DUSHMA, SUSHMA AND SUSHMA-SUSHMA.

AT THE END OF THE THIRD PERIOD OF THE PRESENT AVSARPINI KAAL, 14 KULKARS ORIGINATED WHEN ONLY THE EIGHTH PART OF THE PALYA WAS LEFT.THE NAME OF THESE KULKARS ARE- PRATISHRUTI ,SANMATI ,KESHEMANKAR ,KSHEMANDAR ,SEEMANKAR ,SEEMANDHAR, VIMALVAHAN, CHAKSHUSHMAN ,YASHASVI, ABHICHANDRA , CHANDRABH, MARUDEV, PRASENJIT AND NABHIRAI. LORD RISHABHDEV WAS BORN TO THE LAST KULKAR NABHIRAI AND HE WAS FIRST TEERTHANKAR IN THIS ERA.

         Jainism is a religion, not a cast. One should understand Jaati,Gotra and Dharm. At present, it is estimated there are eighty- four castes among the Jain Community like- Aggarwal, Porwal, Khandelwal,Padmavati Purval Parvar, Lamechu,Chaturth,Pancham etc. Every Caste has its own Gotras.Like in Agrawals ,there are Goel, Singal, Mittal etc. In Khandelwals, there are Sethi, Ranvaka, Gangwal  etc. Thus Caste and Gotra are different things and religion is another.  But still due to some compulsions it became necessary to write Jain in the column of Caste at the time of Population census.
        
        Jains should write " Jain " after their names. Normally in Marwaar and South, people use their Gotra after  their names instead of Jain. As a result, the Jains remain a minority community in the population census.

                      Those Jains who do not write Jain after their names number well over crore and 14 lacs. Those Jains who do not use Jain in there names or use Jain in there names or use some local surname,speak some local language and normally do the craft work or farming amount to a total of one crore and 14 lacs in numbers.
