Brief History

298 Field Regiment was raised on 01 March 1977 at Talbehat under HQ 59 Arty Bde. A Tp each from 14 Fd Regt, 66 Fd Regt, 161 Fd Regt, 173 Fd Regt, 196 Fd Regt and 36 Hy Med Regt was shed to form up 298 Fd Regt with 105mm Caliber Guns (IFG) under the comd of Lt Col JS Dhillon.

The Regiment is mixed class composn regt with most of the pers hailing from UP, Punjab, Rajasthan, Haryana & Maharashtra.
