OSHALONGO VILLAGE[edit]

It is situated in omuntele constituency in oshikoto region. It is one of the populated place in the region. It is a beautiful village, because it has a lot of good things, which help people to cope with the situation like water problem and electricity. Its surrounded by some villages like;Onakalunga,Amilema,Otambo,Amukulungundju and many other.

what makes it beautiful and attractive[edit]

It hosts almost 60 houses. There is a primary school called Oshalongo primary school, and it has a pre-primary and grade 1-7 were the small children get their educational assistance, and only 12 teachers and about 650 learners at the school. In addition people are lucky because there are water sources like;taps, dams as well as wells, which people and animals use daily. Furthermore the village is forever green, due to trees, grasses and shrubs that are every where in it and due to the moderate rainfall it receives every year during the rain season. Animals do not suffer from hunger, they can graze everywhere they want.

There is a clinic called Oshalongo Primary Health Care Centre, that was opened by Dr Richard Nchabi Kamwi on the 19 December 2011. We get many assistance and support. He says that"Services offered at the clinic include the promotion of nutrition, maternal and child health care and family planning, emergency deliveries, routine immunization and prevention and control of epidemics".

We have small businesses where women and men run to make life possible, smooth and easy for themselves and their families. Although they are small and they do not have all the things, people are surviving, because their needs and wants are satisfied. Beside all that people are christian, they come together every Sunday at the church to worship, pray and thank almighty God for everything he did.

Needs and challenges it faces[edit]

The village is not that much perfect, because there is no electricity and a tarred road and its difficult sometimes to cope without them. Challenges people in the village face is just the flood it happen when during the rain season it receives a lot of rain, and it destroys their crops and infrastructures.
