Foxy Shazam or Foxy Shazam! is an alternative rock group from Cincinnati, Ohio. The band got their name from a term for "cool shoes" at their singer's (Eric Sean Nally) high school.[1].

Music Style[edit]

Touring with such acts as Heavy Heavy Low Low of Ferret Music, Dance Gavin Dance, Karate High School, Tubring and Tera Melos. Currently the band is touring to promote their new album which started on January 17, 2008.

An account of one groups experience at a live show can be seen here. Another man's experience can be seen here. Their live shows are typically described as exciting and sometimes different, but usually people describe it as a good experience.

We tend to be really theatrical because we are so passionate about the music. It really moves us, and we don’t need props to show it.[3]

Discography[edit]

The Flamingo Trigger[edit]

The Flamingo Trigger is Foxy Shazam's debut album released on June 15, 2005. The release was independent and brought them into a tour across North America. Fan favorites include songs like "No Don't Shoot", "The French Passion of Animality Opera", and "October Surf Suitcase Fish". The tour lasted for eighteen months and word of mouth quickly spread Foxy Shazam's popularity.

Introducing Foxy Shazam[edit]

The second album under Foxy Shazam's belt, Introducing Foxy Shazam, was released on January 22, 2008. Recording for the album began shortly after touring ended in August of 2007. They traveled to a studio in Seattle to record. Some songs from their new album are available on the internet including "Yes! Yes! Yes!" and "Ghost Animals", which both appear on their MySpace. They joined Piermont Management, which is partially owned by The Number Twelve Looks Like You's front man Jesse Korman. The band picked up a label while on tour called New Weathermen, an imprint of Ferret Music.

The producer of the record is Casey Bates(Chiodos, The Number Twelve Looks Like You).

The album has been getting mixed reviews with a general consensus that they are a band you must see live to "get". [4][5]
