Saludos! My name is Dr. Reynaldo Moya De Guzman, at present I am a professor of History at the Facaltad de Granada, an adjunct to the Universidad de Granada, in Granada Spain. I was born in Fabrica to parents of Spanish ancestry. When I was 4 our family moved to Silay City. My family resides in Silay, Bacolod, Manila, and Spain. My sisters and I were sent to school in Spain. In grade 8 while visiting the Royal Archives in Seville, Spain for a school project I read and re-read many references to Negros Island, Bacolod, and Silay amoung others. I was filled with a sense of immense pride in my hometown and the many Negrense contributions to both the building up of Negros and also their contribution to the history of the Spanish Empire. While doing research for my PhD at Georgetown near Washington D.C. I was able to indulge my passion for research on my home. I was afforded an opportunity to look through the many records of the U.S.Army's 40th Divison regarding the battles that took place in Negros and the last fighting at Mt. Silay which we refer to as Patag. I hope to work with others in enhancing the references in Wikipedia on Negros, and it's many citys.
