Brief Intro about Solomon Biitian Damtar(SB Damtar).

Mr. Damtar is a Chartered Accountant and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Ghana (ICAG). He has over 5years working experience with international development organizations such as the Swiss Red Cross and WaterAid Ghana.

He is currently the finance and administration manager of WaterAid Ghana. He is very passionate about the poor and underprivileged in society hence his commitment to fighting poverty and ensuring that the marginalized and socially deprived (The disabled, women and children) are having access to dignified lives. He worked with Swiss Red Cross in the areas of Maternal, Newborn and Child Health (MNCH), Eye Care Services, Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and currently on the same trail with WaterAid Ghana in the fight against WASH poverty in the most deprived and marginalized communities. This is in contribution to the achievement of the UN sustainable Development Goals.

He contributes to this development course through drafting of finance strategy, ensuring accountability of the stakeholders and providing donor, grants and financial reports to the providers of funds and to the various structures of accountability and governance. Integrity, accountability and financial discipline are at the center of his core values. He has appreciable level of donor funds/grants management expertise. Mr. Damtar has also worked as internal auditor, accountant and credits officer in the rural and community banking sector and has the rural banking experience to his credit. He also Holds Bachelor of Commerce (first class) and HND Accounting from the University of Cape Coast and Sunyani Polytechnic respectively.Working in the international development sector and in projects management,He is also a Certified Project Management Development Professional (PMD Pro Level 1) by APMG International.

Mr. Damtar has a number of academic excellence awards to his credit during his stay as a student at the University of Cape Coast. It is worth noting that Mr. Damtar qualified as a Chartered Accountant on first attempt whilst at UCC and graduated with first class at the same time.

As a communicator and peoples’ connector, Mr. Damtar takes keen interest in social engagements with friends, family and society at large especially on developmental issues. He attaches seriousness to continuous professional development in the areas of finance, commerce, international business, economy and development.

Mr. Damtar currently has a professional development objective of becoming a Chartered Tax Practioner and a Lawyer in order to provide cutting edge services for the development of Ghana and the world at large.
