Susan Marie Johnson (born Minneapolis, Minnesota 1948) is an American sculptor who lives and works in San Francisco, CA. Susan Marie was one of the pioneers in moving the field of Textiles into the mainstream artworld[1]; she gained this acknowledgement through her participation in the 10th International Biennial of Tapestry in Lausanne Switzerland in 1981. She has shown her steel wire and metal sculptures nationally and internationally since 1974 and is in numerous private collections, as well as the prestigious Fondation Toms Pauli collection in Lausanne Switzerland.
