GURUDWARA SHRI ATTARI SAHIB

  GURUDWARA SHRI ATTARI SAHIBis situated in the Sultanvind village of Amritsar Distt. The present building complex, located within a walled compound entered through an imposing gateway, was constructed during the early 1950's. The central building is a hall with a square sanctum in the middle where the Guru Granth Sahib is seated. Above the sanctum are two stories of square rooms topped by a lotus dome having a goldplated pinnacle. A small sarovar is in front of the hall. The Gurudwara is affiliated to the Shiromani Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee but is managed by Baba Kalian Singh Sevavale. 

History Gurudwara Atari Sahib Patshahi Chhevin marks the site where, according to local tradition, Guru Hargobind made a halt while travelling from Amritsar to Dalla for his wedding ceremonies. SHRI GURU ARJAN DEV JI himself pitched the Qila (Hitching post) which now has grown as Tree.

Overview At this place GURU ARJAN DEV JI came with Baraat of his son SHRI HARGOBIND SAHIB JI along with Baba Budha ji, Bhai Gurdas ji, Bhai Bhahlo ji, Bhai Shalo ji, Baba Bidi Chand ji. GURU SAHIB came this place in 1661.
