Manthanam is a small village in Pathanamthitta district of Kerala, India. It is situated in Kunnamthanam panchayat in Mallappally Taluk. The nearby places to Manthanam are Kunnamthanam, Payippadu and Madappally. It is situated in the borders of Pathanamthitta and Kottayam districts. Notable landmarks of Manthanam includes the veterinary health centre of Mallappally block, Umikkunnumala (the hill of rice chaff), the kanikka mandapam of madathil kavu Bhagavati temple etc. It is home to two important churches, viz. the St. Mary's Orthodox church and the St. Sehion Jacobite church. Demographically, Manthanam hosts Christians and Hindus in almost equal numbers with no Muslim population to mention about.
