Viral Vasavada (22-Apr-1977) is an Indian author, script writer and journalist. Most of his literary work is based on science based stuff. He is considered as one of the fastest translator in Gujarat. His literary work is comprised in 32 books under various titles.

Biography

Viral Vasavada (pronounced [Veeral vasaavadaa]; born 22 April 1977) is an Indian Author, Columnist, Translator, former Journalist and Sub Editor of leading Gujarati Newspapers. Vasavada holds Master’s degree in Commerce and Bachelor’s degree in Law. He first gained popularity in the early 2000s for his multi colored articles published in ‘Gujarat Samachar’ and then science based popular column “Wavelength”, published in esteemed Gujarati Publication ‘Divya Bhaskar’. He has written 32 books on various subjects at the age of just 45. His translation on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s biography, originally written by British Producer and writer Andy Marino is deliberated as one of the bestselling books on PM’s biographies. He is considered as one of the best science writers in Gujarat. He has written two short films ‘Shodh’ and ‘Visiting Card’ with screenplay and dialogues.

Early life

Viral Vasavada was born in Ahmedabad. His ancestors on his father's side came from a village called Mangrol, in the Junagadh District, in the present-day state of Gujarat, in India. His mother, Divya (Durgeshwari) Vitthalray Mehta, was a Gujarati woman from Petlad, Gujarat, India. His father Sudhirbhai Dhansukhlal Vasavada was initially posted at Rajkot in the Government Service in Power Sector, Gujarat Electricity Board. In the early 80s, they shifted to Dhari, a small village in Amreli district of Gujarat and after a decade they shifted back to Rajkot. His mother preferred her domestic duties. Viral Vasavada have two younger sisters, Hiral and Vaibhavi. His son Tasmai Vasavada (15) is also an emerging Tabla Player of Ajrada Gharana (One of the Six main traditional schools in Tabla) and student of Indian classical vocal as well.

Vasavada is an alumnus of M.T. Dhansaniya College of Commerce, Rajkot. He later attended A.M.P. Law College, Rajkot, Saurashtra University. He is Masters in Commerce and Bachelors in Law. The writer who Vasavada credits as having the biggest impact on him was his great grandfather Chhaganlal Vallabhji Vasavada, Magistrate, State Court, Bantwa. In particular, Chhaganlal was a well-known poet at that time and had written entire ‘Ramayana’ in classical vocal form embedded with Chhandas..[1]

Early career (1998-2022) Viral Vasavada made his debut in 1998, as a Journalist in ‘Gujarat Samachar’. As a result of his command over vernacular language, his regular column on multi colored subjects started in its half weekly supplementary ‘Shatdal’. Then he joined regional eveninger “Aajkaal’ as a Journalist and translator. He was then invited as a regular columnist for ‘Sandesh’, one of the leading newspaper in Gujarat. In the year 2003, ‘Dainik Bhaskar’ launched its Gujarat edition ‘Divya Bhaskar’ and Vasavada was called upon to serve as Sub Editor. It’s said that Science writing in Gujarati is not an easy task. But Vasavada proved it erroneous. His column ‘Wavelength’ got phenomenal popularity because of its funny and funcyclopedic flare. His another column ‘Samwad’ was based on variety of subjects. ‘Science Safar’ is his remarkable literary work, based on Science centered stuff, published in ‘Divya Bhaskar’. In addition to writing, Vasavada has worked as a casual comperer with All India Radio, Rajkot. Programme ‘Yuvvani’ is remembered for his fantastic presentation.

Successful career Viral Vasavada has written thousands of articles on various subjects in renowned media publications. His columns ‘Wavelength’ and ‘Science Safar’ are deliberated remarkable due to its unique style and presentation. Column ‘Funcyclopedia’, published in magazine ‘Aarpaar’ and later in ‘Sandesh’ is also considered as a matchless presentation because of its sumptuous content and genre. Magazines like ‘Abhiyan’, ‘Jog-Sanjog’, ‘Feelings’ and Sadhana’ are the stunning milestones of his writing career. Overseas media “Tirangaa’, publishing from New York-New Jersey-Pennsylvania honored Vasavada with his regular column based on biographies of the legends and is admired by American readers at large.

Viral Vasavada has written 32 books on various subjects. His literary work includes-

1. Aitihasik-Pauranik Vanshavali (Great Golbal Triginy) This book narrates history and mythology coupled with the origin of mankind and its descendants spreded over various Vanshas. Book is amassed with references from Vedas, Puranas, ‘Ramayana’, ‘Mahabharata’, Harivansh’, ‘Rajtarangini’ and other related books.

2. Prerana Punj Based on biography of Health Minister, State, Gujarat Mr. Vallabhbhai Patel.

3. Vigyanopanishad It’s a compilation of literary work published in various media publications covering ranges of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Astro Physics, Quantum Physics, Biotechnology, oceanography, zoology, cryptozoology, nanotechnology, robotics, space science, genetics etc.

4. Funcyclopedia It’s a compilation of articles on multi colored subjects, published in numerous esteemed publications. How much can be written on a single word was the concept behind this book.

Viral Vasavada married with Darshana Nagendra Vaishnav in the year 2003. His son Tasmai Vasavada (15), deciple of Tabla maestro Mehdi Hassan, is also an emerging Tabla Player of Ajrada Gharana (One of the Six main traditional schools in Tabla) and student of Indian classical vocal as well.

Viral Vasavada is a good painter. His portraits got demonstrated in International Painting Competition at Geneva. He is a researcher of Indian Classical Music and has taken training of Indian classical vocal from music maestro Ustad Atta Muhammad Khan Pathan and Ustad Ghulam Khusro Khan Pathan. His All India Radio series on HIV ‘Listen, Learn, Live’ broadcasted in later 90s got wide fame and awaken the youth in its elementary years of AIDS.
