Esan Samuel Ogooluwa (samirexzarts) (born 1997) is a Nigerian artist working in a genre of art known as hyperrealism. He is best known for his realistic life-size portraits of regular people of mostly African descent. Working primarily with Charcoal, graphite and pastels on Paper.

BIOGRAPHY

  Esan Samuel Ogooluwa (brn 1997) is a Hyperrealistic Visual Artist, teacher, song writer, singer, programmer and a multimedia producer. He hails from osun state in Nigeria and had his Nigerian Certificate(NCE) in Biology/Mathematics education from the federal college of education, Abeokuta in 2016/2017 and also hold a Diploma in Desktop Publishing (DDP) from Davsoft Concepts in 2013.
     

MY CAREER AS AN ARTIST

 I actually started drawing at about 6-7 years of age when I was still in the lower classes (primary 1-4). I could remember vividly then when my classmates noted me for my good drawing skills they often beckoned on me virtually all the time they were given any class work that involves drawing. I am a self taught artist and my self development started by drawing stick figures which was what my colleagues as at that time found very fascinating. Later on I moved on to drawing from a very popular comic soccer book titled "supa Strika". The characters in this comic book were more advanced to work on. They made me improved a bit on my drawing skills.

 In my secondary school days I was the most consulted person for any art related subject as I showed great drawing skills in woks given to me which involves drawing. As years passed by, I started developing a strong interest in Art a concept. Anything that has to do with art just inspire me. The only time I gave it a little break was during my program at college but towards the end of of the program I dived back into what I love doing by making some sketches of my friends which really got them amazed that I could do such a thing.

 Almost immediately after the completion of my program at College, I started art again as a full career. At this time I was still trying to carve a niche for myself in the art world as I used all materials available to me to make artworks ranging from pencils to colors and many other materials. I was exploring all these materials just to get better at one's craft and to be candid, I really got to discover some new outcome in the look of my drawings which made me have a keen interest to get better in my craft.

THE REJUVENATION (Stated Officially)

 My ART turned a new leaf when I discovered an application in 2015 called Instagram. I had never thought there was more to drawing and art generally than normal sketches That lasts not more than 5 minutes. Before coming across this app, I had never thought anything good could come out of art as my colleagues do have this orientation that art was a poor man's career and an unprofitable venture which was what actually made me pursued a career in science by studying Biology/Mathematics at the college of education.

THE GENESIS OF HYPERREALISM

 In 2016, I found a GENRE of Art known as HYPERREALISM when I came across several greatly Talented artists from around the world on Instagram some of which includes the likes of Arinze Stanley, Kelvin Okafor, Ayo Filade, Chiamonwu Joy, Ken Nwadiogbu just to mention but a few. Their ability to capture the innermost emotions of a human being and transfer this from their pencils to the paper was what got me really determined that if they could attain such a feet in the art world then nothing stops me from getting to that same level.

 I got really inspired through their works as started practicing and getting to know all it entails to make Hyperrealistic artworks. It took me quite a long time to get really good in Hyperrealism. I made my first Hyperrealistic work of art I 2017 titled "PHOBIA". It was a self portrait which really went viral online and the love people showed on it really gave me the drive to make better works and in 2018, I had started working fully in the genre of Hyperrealism as I made several works of celebrities, public figures, dignitaries and started receiving commissions from clients far and near.

 In July 2018 I presented an artwork to a great Gospel music minister called STEVE CROWN which was much appreciated and gladly received. After then I had the privilege of presenting two enormous artworks to House on the Rock church and Creflo Dollar amongst others.

 I started an Art Foundation in 2018 with the name SAMIREXZ ARTS FOUNDATION which deals with the making of Hyperrealistic artworks in Dry Media to start with and also train people who wishes to learn the art of Hyperrealism.

Style of Art

He works in a genre of art known as HYPERREALISM(Artworks looks unbelievably real, detailed and like a photograph) which he found in 2017 after coming across some amazing hyperrealistic artists on social media some of which includes Arinze Stanley Egbe, Kevin okafor, ayo filade etc.

According to a recent interview with The Spark Samirexz aims to achieve a deeper meaning through his art, one which goes beyond the visually spectacular facade he presents into themes such as gender equality, African cultures, and black power Samirexz also displays with his art Black power as a timely, bitting subject in large works with black people of assured attitudes permeating project’s oeuvre. With strong expressions, Samirexz enhances his drawings with contents of cultural revival. He argues that though it seems “our people are protecting African culture, but we are not exactly preserving it Samirexz is a self-taught artist has also made pencil sketches of celebrities and public personalities including MI Abaga, kanye west , Adekunle gold and Asa among others.
