Contentful is a cloud-based Content Management System launched in Berlin during June 2013[1]. Its platform agnostic, API-first approach means that content can be distributed across any device or application[2].

Contentful began its life as StorageRoom, a platform built by the Contentful founders to push content to applications[2]. After building up over 1000 international customers and lining up funding and advisors, StorageRoom was rebuilt as Contentful and now serves content for companies like Nike, Playboy and Axel Springer[1][2][3].
