[edit]I am Saswati Chaudhuri born at Calcutta. Art and Ideas of Nandalal Bose and Ajanta cave paintings inspired me while studying in Sister Nivedita girls School at Calcutta. Since childhood visiting various religious places and heritage sites all around India became eye-opener as an artist because my family drifted around north-east and north-west India.I am interested in art, art history, literature,heritage and museums.I am a professional writer, artist and work with museums. I am influenced by European Classical style and inspired by Indian art.I was Awarded Jr. Fellowship, Ministry of Culture 1998-2000 and Medals for my artworks from Indian Society of Oriental art, Calcutta 1982, 84 and 86.I like to explore new things. As writer my high point is that my short story is published in Chicken Soup for the Soul,Indian Women[1], 2010

[edit]I was enlightened as an artist working under the Gurus like Ganesh Haloi, Niranjan Pradhan, Bikash Bhattacharya, and Isha Mahammad during my formal training from Govt. College of Art & Craft, Calcutta, specializing in western style of Drawing and Painting (5 years graduation in Visual Art). I updated my academic sphere by holding

Special assignment
[edit]Delivered a lecture-presentation on ‘Heritage Buildings of Delhi’ on 20th September 2005 for the Geography Dept. MIRANDA HOUSE, University of Delhi, which was a part of the curriculum of ‘Certificate Course in Tourism’.
