The Cobham Cougars American Football club was formed and established in December 2014 by 13 year-old Jacob Barlow who moved to London, England from the United States in 2014 and was passionate about bringing the sport he played in the States with him to England. Now going into their 5th season, the Cobham Cougars American Football club has grown into several teams, including a U17 and U19 squads. In 2016 the U17 team reached the U17 BAFA British National Championship finals finishing 2nd. In 2017 the U17 team did one better going un-defeated in a magical season and going back to the BAFA U17 finals where they were crowned the British National Champions. The U17 team has now won the London South Division conference 3 consecutive seasons (2016, 2017 and 2018). In 2018, due to continued growth and enthusiasm the Cobham Cougars established U19 team who competes in the D1 league.

History of the Cobham Cougars: From the inception of the team, founder Jacob Barlow chose the blue and white team colours and Cougar mascot to match that of his favourite American University football team the BYU Cougars.

In their short history, the Cobham Cougars have quickly established themselves as one of the premier American football clubs in Britain, being nominated as 2017 Program of the Year (POTY)
