Paroxysmal Tonic Upgaze: Paroxysmal Tonic Upgaze is an extremely rare genetic disorder that primarily occurs in younger people, such as children. What happens is that the brain areas that control the eye do not work normally and therefore, they fail, causing the eye to look upward almost constantly. Paroxysmal is a very rare disorder. So rare, that only about 40 or so cases have been reported in the USA.
