On June 18, 2017, Nolan Arenado of the Colorado Rockies became the 316th player in Major League Baseball to hit for the cycle, hitting a come from behind walk-off three run home run against Mark Melancon of the San Francisco Giants to complete the cycle. The cycle hit, as well as the celebration afterwards became an iconic moment in the history of the franchise. Arenado's celebratory reaction combined with blood streaming from his left temple due to hitting the helmet of teammate Charlie Blackmon during the celebration became an iconic moment in Colorado Rockies history, and became a staple of the franchise's merchandising. The cycle coming from a walk-off home run, as well as the game taking place on Father's Day, combined to further the impact of Arenado's cycle.
