Hello
[edit]Hi! I'm Korean American, I grew up in South Korea and now live in the U.S. I speak English, Korean, Chinese (conversational), and Japanese (basic, enough for simple conversations). I used to edit under a previous account (contribs, pages created) that I retired per WP:RTV, but I decided to come back.
Interests
[edit]- Modern Korean history (19th and 20th centuries)
- Korean diaspora
- Religious studies
- Abrahamic faiths
- Early Christianity and Islam
- South Asian religions
- Abrahamic faiths
- Geopolitics
- Modern Middle Eastern history
- Travel
- I've been to 20 countries, my favorites are India, Egypt, Mexico, Japan, and China.
My work
[edit]I try to edit quickly and boldly, as coverage of Korea on Wikipedia needs significant improvement and the Korean-speaking community on enwiki is quite small. I try to prioritize topics that I think are important or useful for non-Koreans, the Korean diaspora, and historians.
Small sample of my work (assume significant majority author, unless otherwise indicated):
- 1883 Korean special mission to the United States
- March First Movement
- File:Hyochangwon as Korea's first golf course.jpg (original uploader, context)
- Park Chung Hee (WIP; done until military career section)
- Kim Ku (WIP)
- Chŏng Sang-jin
- Budae-jjigae
- Sino-Korean Border Agreement
- List of newspapers in Korea (also wrote most articles on here)
- List of oldest restaurants in South Korea (wrote all articles on here)
- Category:Michelin Guide starred restaurants in South Korea (wrote all articles)
AutoWikiBrowser
[edit]You may see me making edits using WP:AutoWikiBrowser. I wrote a number of custom scripts for it (with the intent to be uncontroversial) and manually review each of these edits. Please post on my talk page if you have any concerns about this.
