The Bud family is an old noble family of Maramureșcounty. The members of this family inherit the hereditary title of nobles of Budești.

Notable members:
  • The noble Tit Bud of Budești, the vicar of Maramureș between 1887-1917.
  • The noble Ioan Bud of Budfalva (Budești), the minister of finance of The Kingdom of Hungary between 1924 and 1928.[1]
  • The noble Irina Bud of Budești (b. 1901 - d. 1980), was a "protector” of the Jews in the Oaș area during the holocaust, and together with other members of the family, she brought food and water to the imprisoned Jews (who had no food and water) in the wagons of the railway station in Negrești and in other localities of the Oaș area. She was the wife of hero Vasile Mihalca of Dolha and Petrova.
