Julien Wzorek is a radio host at Radio France and university educator at the Faculty of applied sciences (FSA) and at the Artois University for media and society relations.
Biography[edit]
His Father, Julien Wzorek, was a resistant and miner in the mines of Silesia and the North of France. His mother, Christine Szydlowski, was a seamstress. Julien Wzorek (son) will manage the communication departments within private and territorial structures, after working in education and company management. [1]

Julien Wzorek is a journalist from 1993 to 1994.
He directs several reports, mainly from the program La Fête de L’Emploi.
France 3[edit]
In 1989, he joins La Maison de la Radio as a host and creates the first programs dedicated to employment.
As a presenter and creator of the employment programs on France Bleu Nord, he hosts economical debates with the main regional companies, but also with organizations, schools and the main employement partners in the Nord-pas-de-Calais.
France Bleu Nord[edit]
In 1980, in the context of the multiplication of pirate radios on the FM airwaves and the end of the Radio France monopole, Jacqueline Baudrier launches three local radios including Fréquence Nord. He often intervenes on the topic of employment and hosts the program Au Coeur de la Région.
Programs around the world[edit]
In 2007, he creates Les Chtis du bout du Monde to tell the lives ox expatriates from the Nord-pas-de-Calais in their host countries. This program still exists in a different format.
In 2008, he covers the 4L rally in Tunisia. The aim of this humanitarian rally was to provide school supplies to children in Tunisia, more importantly around the Matmata mountains.
Still in 2008, he visits the local towns and villages with a small crew to showcase their life, culture and work with the program Au Coeur de la Région. Special programs have also been made in the United Kingdom.
Rencontre en Nord
History and concept[edit]
In the early 2000’s, Julien Wzorek imagines a program revolving around from or that lived in the region, in the form of testimonies from historical figures, scientists, writers, artists or athletes.
The very first Rencontre en Nord, in late 2008, was dedicated to Lili Rosenberg and recorder in Anne Frank’s house in Amsterdam. Lili Rosenberg, jewish child, number 2512 was arrested on October 25th at 3:30 am when she was ten years old. First imprisoned at the Loos prison, she was deported in the extermination camp of Ravensbrück and then Bergen-Belsen. Lili Rosenberg is one of the last death camps survivors and her testimony will remain meaningful and special for the future generations. This is all the more important given that she met and knew Anne Frank (The Diary of a Young Girl), who didn’t have the same luck in escaping the extermination camp and died a few days only after the liberation of camp the allied troops.
Florence Cassez was released from Mexican prisons after seven years of imprisonment and her acquittal by the Supreme Court of Mexico. Following a brief interview on January 24th on the TF1 evening news, Florence Cassez gives a long and unique interview, three weeks after return, to Julien Wzorek’s Rencontres en Nord on France Bleu Nord. She mentions « the conditions of her arrest in December 2005, of her imprisonment and of her survival during seven years in Mexican prisons ». Her interview in Rencontre en Nord, a few days after her liberation, was especially listened to in Mexico and remains one of her rare testimonies. In 2014 for the anniversary of her liberation and the publishing of her second book Rien n’emprisonne l’innocence she gives a second 57 minutes interview in Rencontre en Nord.
The specificity of Julien Wzorek and his program are talked about on the TV news program 12-13 Nord-pas-de-Calais on France 3 by Vincent Dupire on February 3rd 2014. Vincent Dupire comments Julien Wzorek’s interviewing technique: « Julien Wzorek’s very intimate way of interviewing allows him to gather confidences not heard elsewhere ».
Since 2009, Julien Wzorek records his program about celebrities’ lives every week and has to this day recorded almost 200 testimonies. That is how Pierre Mauroy relates his life for more than an hour for his last interview.
Rencontre en Nord is also a podcast on the Radio France website and many others.
Broadcast[edit]
The program is broadcast from monday till friday on France Bleu Nord, from 3:30pm till 14h in the short format. The interview as a whole is broadcast on sundays from 4pm till 5pm.
