Yuri Sergeevich Gychka (Ukrainian: Юрій Сергійович Гичка; born. April 20 1990 , Pochaiv, Ternopil Oblast, Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic, Soviet Union) — priest Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate), singer-songwriter, composer , social worker of the Pochaev city community.

Biography[edit]

From 1997 to 2005 he studied at the Pochaev secondary school of I-III levels, as well as at the music school in the piano class.[1]

From 2005 to 2007 he studied at Ivan Bohun Military High School, where he actively participated in amateur performances.[1][2]

From 2007 to 2012 he studied at the Military Institute of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.

From 2011 to 2015 he studied at the Kiev Theological Seminary (correspondence department).[3]

In 2011 he received a basic higher education in the direction of training "finance and credit", received a Bachelor's degree in finance and credit.

In 2012 he received a complete higher education in the direction of training "finance and credit", received the qualification Specialist degree in finance and credit, economist, tactical level military command officer.

On May 26, 2012, by order of the Minister of Defense of Ukraine No. 427, he was appointed to the position of assistant battalion commander for financial and economic work - head of the financial and economic service of military unit A2709 in the city of Pervomaisk, Mykolaiv Oblast with the assignment of the military rank "lieutenant".

On May 26, 2013, by order of the Commander of the Air Force of the Armed Ukrainian Air Force No. 246, he was awarded the military rank of "Senior lieutenant".

On April 28, 2015, by order of the Chief of General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces No. 213, he was appointed assistant to the commander of the 40th separate artillery brigade for financial and economic work - chief of the financial and economic service of the military unit, field post office B3500 (A2227) in the city of Pervomaisk, Mykolaiv Oblast.


On June 13, 2015 he graduated from the Kiev Theological Seminary (correspondence department), Diploma DS No. 4545 (Resolution of the Academic Council dated June 12, 2015 (Journal No. 130)). In the same year he entered the Kiev Theological Academy

On August 4, 2015, by order of the commander of the operational Command South No. 28, he was awarded the military rank "Captain (armed forces) " ahead of schedule.

On December 09, 2015 he received the status of a "participant in hostilities".

December 23, 2016 by order of the commander of the troops of the Operational Command "South" was appointed head of the financial and economic service of the Pervomaisky garrison of the Nikolaev region[4].

On January 23, 2017, by order of the commander of the troops of the Operational Command "South" No. 5, he was transferred to the reserve for family reasons in accordance with Article 26 of Section 8, Clause "D" of the Law of Ukraine "On Military Duty and Military Service".[5][6]

On May 7, 2017, His Eminence Metropolitan Belotserkovsky and Boguslavsky Augustin ordained deacon in the Holy Trinity Temple in the city of Rzhishchev, Kyiv regin.[7]

On June 18, 2017, Metropolitan Augustine ordained him a presbyter in the Church of the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos in the village of Kosyakovka, Tarashchansky deanery.


From September 5, 2017 to October 13, 2017, he served as an interim rector of St. Michael's Church in the village of Panikarcha, Rzhishchev deanery.[8]

From October 14, 2017 to October 13, 2020, he served as a regular priest in the Holy Trinity Church in the city of Rzhishchev, Kyiv regin.

On October 16, 2020, he was appointed cleric of the Church of St. Job and Amphilochius of Pochayiv, and was also included in the corporate party of the teachers of the Pochaev Theological Seminary.


On December 1, 2020, he was appointed director of the Center for the provision of social services of the Pochaev City Council. based on competitive selection [1] [9] [10] [11]
