Psychology is the science of mind and behavior. It includes the study of conscious and unconscious phenomena such as feelings and thoughts, the emerging properties of brains, and the behavioral characteristics of individuals and groups. Some branches of psychology deal in studying the role of mental functions in individual and social behavior, while others explore the physiological and biological processes that underlie cognitive function. This academic discipline is classified here as a social science, but can be categorized as a natural science as well.
