About me

I signed up for this account in order to give myself a degree of transparency and accountability, so that I might participate in the currently ongoing debacle at the list of AVGN episodes and its talk page. I have done little other editing on wikipedia, as I lack the suitable amounts of free time in which to do more than I am. The shameful happenings on the AVGN pages (deletion attempts, link removal, endless circular debates) and elsewhere on wikipedia have given me little reason to want to get more involved in the community. Also a deterrent for me is the rampant disdain for unregistered users, where long-time account-holders see fit to not assume good faith and believe every edit performed by an IP to be subject to increased scrutiny for no reason other than the editor's lack of a registered account.

My favourite wikipedia policy pages are: Wikipedia is not a bureaucracy, as it is the policy page that is almost universally ignored and is thus nearly completely untrue. And the fifth pillar of wikipedia, also known as ignore all rules; not because I think it lets me do what I like, but because that is what its application is presumed to be by anyone who dares cite it for any reason. A large portion of the community of wikilawyers would like to see it stricken from wikipedia policy, as it serves no purpose that they perceive.
