Response Insurance is a nationwide direct-to-the-consumer insurance company.[1]
History[edit]
Direct Response Corporation, the holding company of the Response Insurance Group of Companies, was incorporated in 1995. In 1996 a group of investors, led by Morgan Stanley Capital Partners made the first of several contributions that total $315 million to fund the Company.[1]
National surveys[edit]
The first Response Insurance National Driving Habits Survey was released in 1999, marking one of the first serious investigations into the issue of driving distractions and the use of cell phones while driving. It is featured in many national newspapers and news magazines, as well as internet searches & media outlets. Subsequent groundbreaking surveys are issued on road rage [2], drivers’ response to road rage[3], use of turn signals[4], and “distracted driver personality type.”[5] The survey has been conducted on a yearly basis ever since, due to its increased popularity, high circulation and readership.
Teachers’ Insurance Plan[edit]
In 1992, the Response Insurance Group of Companies created an auto insurance program for educators. This program is only available to current and retired educators and their families.
