Wheaton Covered Bridge

The Wheaton Covered Bridge is a covered bridge in Sackville, New Brunswick, Canada. The bridge is maintained by the New Brunswick Department of Transport and Infrastructure.[1]

History[edit]

The Wheaton Covered Bridge is a covered bridge that crosses the Tantramar River. Named for a former farmer that owned the property - Thomas Wheaton - the bridge is part of the province's iconic collection of covered bridges.[2] Possibly built in 1916, it now stands as the only covered bridge in the Tantramar region.[3]

The Wheaton Covered Bridge is located on High Marsh Road, a dirt road that serves as the main path connecting the parishes of Upper Sackville and Pointe de Bute, aside from the Trans Canada Highway.
