Better Nate Than Ever is a 2013 children's fiction novel by author and former Broadway dancer Tim Federle and published by Simon & Schuster. The novel focuses on a teenager named Nate Foster who wants to star in the Broadway edition of E.T.: The Musical, based on the film E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial. Federle based several parts of the novel around his own childhood.[1]

Critical reception

[edit]

In the February 2013 edition of the Bulletin of the Center for Children's Books, reviewer Kate Quealy-Gainer praised the humor in Nate's "matter-of-fact, rapid-fire narration and endearing unawareness", noting that there was "plenty of substance to go along with the razzle-dazzle here, so sit back and enjoy the show."[2]
