From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Fire Fighters was a quarter hour children's radio show about the "unsung heroes" of American fire fighters. It aimed to be both an entertaining and informative show about the realities of fire fighters and fire related products such as sprinkler systems, educating children on how to avoid fires. Like other popular shows at the time, such as Dragnet or Have Gun Will Travel, each episode had a fire-related mystery to be solved. Characters would be interviewed, research would be done, and the main players would have a discussion resulting in the solution being found. Emphasis was placed on the hazards of fires and the excitement of the lives of fire fighters.
