Alone is a song by Welsh metal band, Bullet for My Valentine, released as the third single from their third album, Fever, on July 20th, 2010 to the radio[1] and on CD format with an instrumental version of "The Last Fight" as a B-side.[2]
Reception[edit]
Along all Fever tracks, one of the most recognized songs by the critics is "Alone". BBC describes it as "[...] the brightest standout, which rocks to a rampaging riff that courses all the way to its core – it's sure to give any listener shivers, such is its magnitude".[5] Billboard fully enjoyed it, saying that "[...] [Alone] offers six minutes of epic ebb-and-flow orchestration"[6]; and among many other critics strongly recommends to listen.[7][8][9] Even critics like AbsolutePunk, who really disliked the album, recognized "Alone" as "the standout track" which its "[..] chorus is sing-along-able and the guitar solo is harmonized and completely brutal!".[8]
The song was the first one to be revealed when the band announced to be recording a then-new-untitled album in November 2009, in an interview that vocalist, Matthew Tuck, had with Metal Hammer UK magazine:

Music video[edit]
The music video was released for the UK on March 12, 2010 on the band's MySpace website and on March 18, 2010 worldwide. It consists of a fight between two men in a poor-lighted room while the band is playing the song apparently in the same place. After a long fight, the masked fighter's mask is removed, and it is shown that the man was fighting himself.

DK Jamz[edit]
Donkey Kong Country also had a popular soundtrack which was released on CD under the title DK Jamz. Composers Robin Beanland, Eveline Fischer and David Wise collaborated on this ensemble of jungle music. Released on March 1, 1995, DK Jamz consists of fifty tracks, of which tracks 24–48 are completely silent, and the remaining two tracks in the end are 'secret' bonus tracks not listed in the back of the disc cover. The soundtrack was also the focus of an OverClocked ReMix collaboration titled Kong in Concert, later praised by Wise.[15]
The soundtrack is known for its atmospheric music, mixing natural environmental sounds with prominent melodic and percussive accompaniment. It features a wide variety of different musical styles that attempt to be evocative of the environments they appear in. This varies with the differing areas of the game, and includes music from levels set in Africa-inspired jungles, caverns, oceanic reefs, frozen landscapes, and industrial factories. David Wise has stated that he wanted the music produced by the Super NES' SPC700 chip for the game to sound similar to the Korg Wavestation synthesizer.[16]

"In the Presence of Enemies" is a song by progressive metal band Dream Theater, which is featured in their ninth studio album Systematic Chaos. The song is split into two parts: "Part I", which is the opening of the album, and "Part II" as the final track. Clocking at 25:38 with both parts together, it is one of the longest tracks recorded by the band.
Background[edit]
The first song recorded, the twenty-five-minute epic "In the Presence of Enemies", was described by Petrucci as the "epitome of a Dream Theater creation".[18] He went on to describe the track as "very progressive, very long"; also noting that it set a good tone for writing and recording the rest of the album.[18] The song was split into two parts for the album, due to its being a good open and close to the album. According to Portnoy, the band felt it was too long to open the album, but did not want to close the album with a long song, as they had with the twenty-four-minute title track of their last album Octavarium (2005).[19] The song is normally played in its entirety in live shows.[20] The story of this song was inspired by a Korean manga named Priest, as Petrucci explains that not being a manga fan, precisely, "[...] I like it though. This one, I just stumbled upon and I really liked the content. It inspired me to take a different approach lyrically. You have to keep things interesting for yourself when writing new material so I just took this and ran with it. [...] Those types of lyrics are fun to write, you know? The dark subject matter, the dark master stuff. It's another way of writing, a fresh one to me."[21] It was included on the live DVD Chaos in Motion 2007–2008.
