  • Led the project
  • Coordinated with the leaders of the Smarthistory Project at the Khan Academy.
  • In total we placed over 300 art history videos into Wikipedia articles.
  • Though the project is nominally not active, I continue to place Smarthistory videos into articles, as well as videos from other GLAM organizations including TED, the MacArthur "Genius Fellows" program, and several art museums.

WP:GLAM/Delaware Art Museum Project

  • Led about 5 volunteers
  • Rewrote the museum article on Wikipedia,
  • Uploaded public domain images from their website to Commons,
  • Started about 20 articles including 7 featured in the "Did you know ..."(DYK) column on the main page.
  • Took several photos and coordinated with the museum director.

Wikipedia Loves Monuments - US (2012)

  • Coordinated the first Wiki Loves Monuments - US in 2012, organized the project,
  • Recruited and organized the jury
  • Pre-screened photos for the jury and placed the photos in articles
  • Answered questions from the participants
  • Which led to almost 22,000 photos being uploaded.
  • Helped the Washington DC chapter, which organized WLM US in 2013 and 2014, to do many of the same things.

Related work on Wikipedia

  • WikiProject National Register of Historic Places - an all volunteer project. I've taken, uploaded and placed about 2,000 photos of NRHP sites and written or edited articles on nearly as many.
  • Funds Dissemination Committee Advisory Group (2012-2014)
worked with the official WMF committee which set up the FDC in 2012, and then reviewed it's achievements in 2014 before making a recommendation to the MWF Executive Director Lila Tretikov to continue the program.

Why you can't hire me I'm proud to be a Wikipedia volunteer and would be happy to help your GLAM institution collaborate with Wikipedia. Since I am happily retired, I would be quite interested and willing to work with you without pay. If you'd like to pay somebody to be a Wikipedian-in-Residence, you should use the money to hire somebody who is younger and needs the experience to help start a career.
