Samuel Reaves Slaton (born December 31, 1986 in Little Rock, Arkansas) is an American poet and former adjunct lecturer in the English department of Brooklyn College. He is the recipient of the Felix Christopher McKean Award for Poetry^[1] and the 2011 Himan Brown Award for Poetry^[2].

Born and raised in Little Rock, Slaton is a 2005 graduate of Pulaski Academy. At the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, he earned a B.A. in Creative Writing and Philosophy.

Along with Nicholas John-Francis Claro and Michael Graves Anderson, Slaton was a cofounder and editor of The Wolf Review, a literary magazine out of Fayetteville, Arkansas. He is the 2011-2012 Editor-in-Chief of the Brooklyn Review and currently works as a Reviews Editor at Publishers Weekly.
