Sequence Organizers is graphic organizer help the students to see the sequential relationship between different events in the text. When students tell the stories for explaining we need to support to explain the sequence of events, cause and effect relationships.

Teaching with graphic organizers[edit]

When students read different texts that tell stories, process or series of events, they need to put the information in a sequence to understand and get clarity of information. After choosing the text that would benefit from this digital tool, provide the students with the graphic organizer. In the down arrows on the left, students can write a short heading/main phrase for the theme. In the box to the right, ask the students to give a summary of the event, their inference or opinion or explore cause-effect relations between various events according to the content of the text.Ask the students to use the back of the sheet to summarize text.

More ideas the teacher can apply[edit]

Students who need more help can be provided with all the key events already written in the left hand arrows. If the students are reading different sections of the same text, like a jigsaw activity, they should complete a particular portion of their organizer. When all the classmates meet, they can exchange their portions to make notes of important information of other sections.

Organizer can be used as a platform to prepare rough draft for a narrative text,or a summarize review of sequential information from more than one textual source or learning experience.[1], [2]
