Verena Ruprecht is a principal investigator at the Centre for Genomic Regulation in Barcelona, CRG (Spain). Since September 2016 she is leading her research group "Cell and Tissue Dynamics" in the Cell & Developmental Biology program. She is interested in how cells process information from their mechanochemical environment and generate adaptive output dynamics in different environmental contexts. This is important for the highly coordinated cellular processes such as cell growth, shape change, movement and cell specification.
Before starting at CRG as an independent researcher, V. Ruprecht did her postdoctoral studies (2012-2015) at the Institute of Science and Technology (Austria, Klosterneuburg), Advisors: Carl-Philipp Heisenberg and Michael Sixt
2010 Visiting Scientist at the Centre d'Immunologie de Marseille-Luminy (CIML), Marseille (France) in the laboratory of Didier Marguet
2010 PhD in Biophysics Johannes Kepler University, Linz (Austria), Advisor: Gerhard J. Schuetz
