The Sword of the Spirit , abbreviated SoS is an ecumenical Christian association comprised of 65 Christian communities located in 25 countries around the world which has for main objective to bring together Christians in different parts of the world for a common mission.

The name [ edit ]
The name, "Sword of the Spirit" comes from the Bible :
"Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit , which is the word of God".Ephesians 6:17 (NIV ), (NKJV )
The "sword of the Spirit" is a spiritual weapon, the Word of God.

History [ edit ] The Word of God was formed in 1970 by four men, Steve Clark, Jim Cavnar, Ralph Martin and Gerry Rauch as a student evangelistic outreach at the University of Michigan.
In 1982, the Word of God founded the Sword of the Spirit, an ecumenical association that groups Christian communities around the world under a same banner, a community of communities.
