How about instead of posting a baffling and seemingly angry message to me you explain the situation so I can understand. Simply saying "You're doing it wrong! Do it right!" is no help to anyone, least of all me. I guess trying to do the right thing and messing up due to imperfect knowledge is grounds for public beratement. I apologize for trying to help. Nobel prize at the top of the infobox

This is a copy of the reasons for not having the icon that I left at Talk:Al Gore#Nobel prize icon at top of box.

"Until a few days ago I'd never seen the icon placed in a infobox like that. First of all it's distracting as it, along with his picture, is the first thing you see when the page opens. Next it's useless. Not everybody will know what the icon signifies, and even if they do, it doesn't link to Nobel Peace Prize, so it's not informing anyone of anything. It also overemphasises the award. It says to me that Al Gore (and the others I saw it on) is notable because he won a Nobel prize but in truth he won the prize because he did something notable. Why not add icons for his other awards as well, what about his Emmy Award.? Finally adding things like that will get out of hand. Look at Jimmy Carter, he has a Nobel Prize as well but why not add the seal of Georgia and the Presidential seal aren't they important? If it's in the box then it should be further down with a list so that the award can be linked to."

I hope that explains why I remove them, and for an example of how the boxes would look with other awards included see, User:CambridgeBayWeather/Sandbox. I am not sure if you can answer this question, but how long did it take for a freighter to go from England to Canada in the late 1940s? If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. Grammar

Hi there,

While it's great that you are so ambitious and want to give to Wikipedia, you may want to start trying to proofread your posts. For instance, your change to the Theodore Roosevelt article read as follows: "This is some stuff that thodore roosevelt did in his life he was also married twice."

Firstly, you didn't spell "Theodore" correctly. Secondly, the sentence itself reads horribly.

Also, from the "West Ranch High School" page: "Recently the school faced a large fire surrounding it but did not get any farther than the gates." "West Ranch and the fire in the distance and believed to be Mr. Vincent(Principal)there also." "Large helicopters tryed to put out the blaze before it reached more homes and West Ranch."

All of these sentences are a mess. They have numerous spelling mistakes, and, even worse, an elementary at best use of the English language.

In order to keep Wikipedia as professional as possible, please consider using correct language when writing.

Fire photos

Did your neighbor agree to release the images under the terms of the GFDL?

It's not good enough to release a work for use on Wikipedia. The author must allow for the work to be freely copied, modified, and distributed for both commercial and noncommercial purposes. Is he willing to meet these conditions? -- RG² 05:27, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
