Bio[edit]

I am a college student currently involved in cross country and track in the spring. I am an amateur musician and play flute and piano. In my free time I often read, watch movies, and dabble in drawing. I also enjoy spending time with my menagerie of animals and learning interesting facts about them and other species of animals.

On Wikipedia, I would be most interested in pages concerning animals, due to my infatuation with most types of animals. Other pages I would consider becoming involved with are science and math pages because of my passion for both subjects.

Article Critique[edit]

Being a proud owner of chickens, I developed an interest in learning about different breeds. During a trip to the county fair I learned about a breed of chickens called a frizzle and decided to do some research to find out more about this unique breed. I visited the Frizzle (chicken breed) page on Wikipedia and found three aspects of it worth commenting on: the bias, citations, and grammar.

In this article, the physical characteristics are covered, along with the estimated origin of the breed. The article does mention that the curled feathers of this breed provide very little protection from the rain. However, it does not mention whether this has an impact on the chickens’ health.; instead, it focuses more on breeding and egg-production.

The citations in this article could also be improved upon. Two of the sources in the “References” section of the article are not referenced in the article. There is also a statement that needs a citation.

Another aspect of the article that needs improvement is the grammar in one of the paragraphs. The final paragraph describes the colors of recognized Frizzle chickens in different organizations, but describes the colors in a run-on sentence.

Overall, this is not a bad article. It covers basic information concerning Frizzle chickens that is useful to people moderately interested in chicken breeds. However, there is little information about any downsides of owning Frizzle chickens, and some of the citations could be improved. Additionally, there is a run-on sentence causing grammar issues at the end of the article. Despite these issues, it is still a useful article for gaining a basic overview of Frizzle chickens.
