Cyclone Ialy was an unusual tropical cyclone that became the first ever tropical cyclone to effect Kenya since reliable records began. It originated from a low-level circulation positioned 588 nm east-northeast of Comoros, which was first noted on 13 May.[1]

Effects[edit]

Ialy caused locally heavy rainfall and storm surge across coastal areas of Kenya, and led to 2 fatalities and several more injuries.[2]
