Vandalism

[edit]

The good thing about patrolling recent changes to fix vandalism is that you get exposed to a wide range of articles you might never have considered looking at yourself.

What Annoys Me

[edit]
  • Articles that should not have a place in an encyclopaedia. We don't need an article about every video game, song or film ever released, and we certainly don't need an article about every fictitious chracter in these games and films. They only need a place in an encyclopaedia if they're genuinely different and ground-breaking. Remember what Wikipedia is NOT! So, for example, The film "The Breakfast Club" should have an entry as an important cult film of its age. Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls should not. Leave that to http://www.imdb.com. This Jabba_the_Griffin is a good example of what I'm talking about. Who cares? Really?
  • Spam, which is carefully crafted into an "informational" context to avoid being called spam. If your article is about your company, and your company is completely unremarkable other than that you think everyone should hear about it, it's spam. Wikipedia is not a vehicle to advertise or promote yourself.
