The Basics

Born June 15, 1959 in Woodstock, New Brunswick - escaped to the arctic to work for the Husdons Bay Company in my late teens, never went back. No one was more surprised than me to eventually find myself married to a woman from Igloolik (Nunavut), and fathering 4 children.

In the summer of 2002 we relocated to Ottawa from Iqaluit in order for our last two children to finish school in he south.

• Rankin Inlet
• Iqaluit

With the exceptions of Resolute Bay, Grise Fiord, and Sanikiluaq, I have visited every other community in Nunavut at least once.

Interests

I actually got involved with the Wikipedia (other than using it as a resource) when researching how to set up a Wiki and decided that MediaWiki was the way to go, the project is still in development.

As 'net time permits between family, work, and playing on my blog (Stageleft: Life on the left side)my primary interests here will no doubt be in editing and adding to pages about communities in Nunavut that I have lived and worked in over the years.

When on-line I can usually be found hanging out in the #lockergnome and #politics IRC channels on the WyldRyde network.

During the summer months I spend a lot of time camping and touring around with my wife on my 1983 XJ-750cc Yamaha Maxim - why not... the kids are gone :-).
