Psycho le Cému is a Japanese Visual rock band. Its members are AYA, Daishi, Lida, seek, and YURA-sama. The band is heavily influenced by cosplay and its members dress up in costumes that resemble anime and TV game characters, some of which are reminiscent of the characters from the fantasy RPG Dragon Quest. Their cosplaying made them stand out in the Gothic Lolita dominated visual kei scene of 2001/2 and established a niche with visual kei fans who have an interest in anime and cosplay. Recently this has expanded to include American fans of anime or cosplay, sometimes referred to as otaku. Fans of the band often cosplay their favourite outfits. They follow the visual kei formula of creating a new set of costumes for each single. Promotional music videos often have storylines based on anime or Eastern mythology. The band also perform as an alter-ego band called "Bad Boys, Be Ambitious!" Though they may appear comical, they are in no way a novelty act.

Members[edit]

AYA plays guitar and assumes the role of "girl" in the band. He has pink hair and often wears bright pink dresses. As many of the band's videos follow a storyline, AYA will assume the role of princess etc. He does not attempt to act in a feminine way or to disguise his masculine voice. AYA was also a member of the band ISABELLE.

Daishi is the vocalist of Psycho le Cému. He often plays the "hero" in their videos.

Lida writes most of the band's material and is their second guitarist. His trademark is bright orange hair.

seek is the bass player of Psycho le Cému, and the shyest member. He often wears very heavy make up, masks, or costumes that cover his entire body. In Psycho le Cému's music videos, he often plays "the monster."

YURA-sama plays drums, but also provides backing vocals and choreographs the band's dance routines. His long blonde hair and self-parodying vain persona has earned him the "-sama" honorific. "Sama" is usually used to indicate a very revered person, but in YURA's case is meant ironically.
