I’m happily married to Doreen since 1985. Doreen is originally from Princeton, MN. We met at Granite Falls AVTI where I was going to tech school for Fluid Power. We have 5 sons; Scott, Shawn, Seth, Sam & Shea. I also have another son from a prevoius relationship; Dustin, he and his gal Mandy have two sons Aiden & Jack Nelson (my Grandsons). They also live in Hector.

My parents Marvin & Angie were active in the 50’s & 60’s with a lake home and a water ski group which later turned semi-professional called the Nelson Sky-Skiers. The group was made up of several farm couples around Hector and did ski shows all over Minnesota. Dad and Mom later divorced in the mid-60’s when I was in Kindergarten. They both were eventially re-married and I now have a Step-brother Dave. We are in business together as owners and operators of Loftness Mfg. in Hector

Loftness currently has 100 employees and in 2011 had 22 million in sales. I create and produce all our marketing materials, such as literature, ads, logos, website, etc. I also deal with day-to day issues of manufacturing and sales. For more info on Loftness Mfg. see: www.loftness.com
